Court of
Protection

The Court of Protection make decisions on financial or welfare matters for people who can’t make decisions at the time they need to be made.

Once deciding whether someone has the mental capacity to make a particular decision themselves, the Court of Protection is also tasked with appointing Deputies to make that person’s ongoing decisions.

Arranging care for yourself or a loved one can not only be an emotional time, it can also be a very complicated one.

There will be plenty of things to think about and this may feel a little overwhelming. Whether it’s for you or a loved one, arranging for the best quality of care in the right setting will be your priority.

At KWM we have experience in working with Deputies to assist them in making appropriate financial decisions.

For example, a Deputy may be tasked with producing an income to pay for someone’s lifestyle or care.  As we are living much longer than previous generations on average, this has become more of a complex task.  At KWM, we help to try and make it a bit simpler.

We often work in conjunction with professional Deputies and/or Lawyers, and have experience in producing annual reporting documentation for The Court.

The value of investments will be directly linked to the performance of selected funds and these can fall as well as rise. You may get back less than the amount initially invested.
